Dr. Stephen Wilkins, DPT
Physical Therapist

Dr. Wilkins received his Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Florida State University then went on to earn a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Miami in 2006. He has since worked in a variety of settings throughout the course of his career including inpatient acute care, skilled nursing and homehealth care. He has participated in multiple post-graduate seminars focusing on manual therapy to improve patient care through a hands-on approach to physical therapy, giving a more rounded approach to patient care than exercise prescription alone.

After working as a staff physical therapist for a large physical therapy practice in Glendale, Dr. Wilkins assumed the role of Clinical Director and served as director of the 2 practice facilities for 2 years before deciding to start his own practice. Dr. Wilkins founded Active Life Physical Therapy & Wellness Center in 2011 and has seen the practice grow since its inception. Originally offering orthopedics-based treatment, the facility underwent an expansion in 2017 and now offers neurological physical therapy in addition to acupuncture and personal training.

Outside of the office, Dr. Wilkins is a father of 2 and enjoys spending time with family as well as staying active with hiking, traveling, rollerblading, and gardening.
